Back in Singapore
Tuesday, April 12, 2011 Written @ 12:28 AM
Hello!!!
I just arrived in Singapore!~
I really miss Singapore very much.
The weather here is really warm but the air is much fresher.
After coming back from Wuhan, I really learn how to appreciate Singapore more.
The environment in Singapore is much more cleaner! :D

However, today there were people who cried while we left.
It was really upsetting seeing them cry.
We decided to create a QQ account which is like their MSN in China.
In this way, we could still keep in contact with one another.

There are many things I have benefit from this Wuhan trip.

Firstly, I gained independence as well as open-mindedness.
I learn how to do my own laundry and also I became more open due to the people in Wuhan.
In Wuhan, there are people who just spit and litter anywhere.
I even encounter a scene where Ii was in the bus and a mother just breastfeed her baby and her baby even peed on the bus.
Spitting in the bus and throwing litter (plastic bottles) out of the bus windows are acceptable in Wuhan too.
All these have helped me to gain insight into China.

Secondly, I gained new friends! :)
I am really glad that the people in Wuhan are really friendly.
They even warn us to be careful of thieves in the street and gave us discounts.
When we left today, the wife of the owner of the fried rice stall we always visit came to send us off together with her baby.
She cried while we left and the scene was really heartwarming.

Next, I also became closer with my current friends as well as our seniors!
We often help and support one another thus growing closer.
The time we spent together deciding what to eat, having trouble waking one another up and hearing one another snore would never be forgotten.
We even shared our personal problems, troubles as well as our own feelings.

Lastly, I learn how to appreciate everything around me more.
I start to appreciate my mother more after knowing how hard it is to do my own laundry and also the cleanliness of Singapore.
Ii became really uncomfortable after coming back to Singapore.
I even wore slippers into the room, wondering if it is alright to wear shorts out and became amazed with clean toilet bowls.
It also felt weird seeing everyone in shorts.

Through this overseas immersion program, I start to develop a different point of view (positive one) towards people. I am really thankful that I signed up for this trip!!! :)

Back to Singapore

Helloo!!
Sorry for the lack of updates as the previous week was piled with projects, reports and test.
Today is actually the last day of my stay in Wuhan
Tomorrow we would all be leaving Wuhan and return back to Singapore!
I'm feeling really happy and a little sad at the same time

During this week, we all worked hard, studied hard and played hard as well.
We went back to Si Men Kou as the food there were really nice.
I will be going Si Men Kou later again.
I hope the taiyaki store is open!! The chocolate taiyaki is the best.

I also ate KFC and they had rice while Singapore doesnt.
Its called Chicken mapo rice

Look at their spoon and fork combined together ''Spork"
I think it is really convenient, its a smart invention!!

And today we went to Guang gu to buy Justin's shoes.

Its a sunday thus there were many people!

We left guang gu back to our dorm to fetch She hui to walmart and then back to dorm again.
This would cost us much taxi fare thus there was this driver who was really kind
He waited below our school to fetch She hui to walmart after dropping me at dorm.
His car was really cool too

Meiling poking her head out

The scenery there was really nice!

I hope I can find some souvenirs at Si Men Kou later for my sister :D
I also took some random shots in this week! :)

Heart shaped clover

The pathway to our dorm.

I will really miss my dorm and all the fun I had in there.
I will blog again after I reach Singapore! :)

Kbox 2!
Friday, April 1, 2011 Written @ 2:05 AM
Helloooooo!~
Today I had lecture early in the morning and after that we head to Ma ying long pharmacy again.
We had to collect information about 10 herbs for our project
I saw some scary herbs and took photos of it:

There were also bees and seahorses :S

After that we went to kbox again! Heheheheh!!
This time I took pictures of it!

And after that we went to back street for dinner!

This is my second favourite store after the soup and rice shop!

Today I also did my first pedicure for $4 sgd
Heheheh! It is my first time doing pedicure and in Wuhan too.
It was a fun experience and at the same time, I learn how to apply nail polish nicely as well~
They have a variety of colours and everything is much cheaper than Singapore.
Pedicure in singapore would cost about $10 thus it is quite worth :D

I need to start saving money!! ( ゚ Д゚)

Shorts day
Thursday, March 31, 2011 Written @ 12:55 AM
Hello~~~~~
Today I just stayed in dorm the whole day as I had to complete my report on time.
But I had to leave the dorm to buy my lunch and dinner.
It was really embarrassing as we went out in our shorts since it was only a while.
The people kept staring at us and some tried to hide their laughter while the rest just point and laugh.
We even saw Li ling outside in our shorts (T▽T)
We thought that maybe they find people wearing shorts offensive or there are other meanings.
We asked li ling and he told us that they only wear shorts during summer.

However, we felt that the weather isn't really that cold anymore.
This is one cultural difference which I really felt today.
But my jeans are all washing, what am I going to do tomorrow~~~~ (T▽T)

Singing competition
Written @ 12:20 AM
Hello!
Today after lessons we went to walmart at xu dong!
We bought lots of snacks and meiling and qiuyan did manicure!
I didn't do it though, heheheh

This is the weird doggy we always spot in the back street.
It doesn't eat the food we tried to feed and just smell it and ran away.

CUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
It keeps ignoring us though.
We named it Shaggy!

We bought this thing before leaving walmart.
It looks like tutu kueh in Singapore just that they used black sugar instead of peanut/coconut
There are also 2 layers!

Qiu yan's manicure!

After leaving walmart we went to have dinner.
I love the soup and rice shop! It feels very warm and fuzzy there.
I forgot to take pictures >_<
They have corn/lotus/carrot/white carrot/seaweed with pork ribs soup and many more
All of them are really tasty (≧∇≦)

After that Chen Ming brought us to watch their singing competition
There are 10 competitors and 4 would be shortlisted.
We arrived late so we only watched some performers.

I think he has the best voice but he wasn't serious and kept playing around with the lyrics.
It's reaaaaaaaally wasted.

She sang english songs like Hero by Mariah Carey

That's all for the day!
Their singing competition is really different from ours.
Theirs were less formal and after performing a song, the audience would pick a song for them to sing.
The judges were also students with music background.
It was a really fun experience overall! :)
