Touring famous spots in Wuhan
Sunday, March 13, 2011 Written @ 12:05 AM
Hello!
Today we woke up really early to explore the famous areas in Wuhan!
Places we went to in order:
East lake -> Hubei provincial museum -> Lunch -> Yellow crane tower -> Shopping

We reached back in school at 6+ and left for dinner with Cheng ming.
He brought us around the shops near the school and we ended our day!~

However, today we accidentally locked ourselves outside the dorm (T▽T)
But its eventually solved thanks to the teachers (≧∇≦)

Here are a few of the pictures I took today:

East lake

On the bus to east lake with our tour guide talking.

We arrived in east lake!

A pretty ship in east lake.

The buildings there are very pretty

Meiling is sick today so she stayed back in the dorm (T▽T)

We left the empty space in the middle for meiling! Heheheh (^▽^)

And we spotted these people fishing in east lake.
Their fishing rods are VERY long

Their rods need these metal poles to support it

Super long!

And we're lucky that we saw a fish caught onto the bait!

After that people just crowd over to buy the fish instantly

It's 10RMB for the fish he is holding (≧∇≦)

After that we took the chartered bus to the musuem!

Hubei Provincial museum

Water bottles aren't allowed inside the museum

Our tour guide of the day! :)

The floor plan for the museum

We went to visit the tomb of Marquis Yi
When he died, all his belongings had to be buried along with him.
For example, his wives, children, servants and pets.
It was found out that the women were poisoned, scary(´ー`)

The normal coffins found

The largest coffin found, weighing many tonnes

Deer head with crane body, imagined by the people in the past

This is one of their national treasures.
It stores wine and has intricate patterns made of solely snakes and dragon which stands for power.
Until now they still could not make a replica of it as it is too detailed.

Spoon to scoop their wine

Huge wine vessel ordered by the marquis for the celebration of the soldiers winning some wars?

Their musical instrument in the past

This is their 'qin' but the strings have corroded as it is made of ox tendon from the past

The golden cup which is also their national treasure

'
The coins used back in the past

These are tiny jade animals which are put into the marquis body to prevent it from corroding, which is their belief.

Soldier and horse armour!

Their arrows and bow

Weapons used in the past

These are the different types of arrow heads used.

Next, we moved on to another part of the museum.
It introduced more about their cups and plates used in the past.

This bowl is one of the prettier ones. I'm guessing it is a lotus?

After that we came out of the museum and we played with this little boy.
He is really friendly but got rather shy when more people crowd around him (#^.^#)

Then we went for lunch at a restaurant

Heheh~ (*´▽`*)

Next we climbed yellow crane tower!

Its tiring (*°∀°)=3
Only people who are 70 years old and above can use the lift, unfair ヽ(´ー`)┌
By the way, the two people in the picture above are taken accidentally, heheh

The view inside and outside the tower at the highest level is breathtaking!

Qiu yan, me and she hui!

We ended the day with fruits and becoming closer! (*^▽^*)

Byebye!! :)
